What is the price of Beauty??

MicrobladingSome would define “beauty” as being the best possible version of yourself, inside and out. What price are you willing to pay for physical “beauty”? Cosmetic tattooing is on the rise. Statistics show that 40% of adults in the US between the ages of 26-40 have at least one tattoo. That’s nearly 45 million Americans with ink somewhere on their bodies. Do you fit in that category?

I was strongly considering tattooed makeup about fifteen years ago when my friend’s mother flew down to Texas to have her eye brows done. Initially I thought it looked pretty silly because her eyebrows were hairless and shiny from the ointment she had to apply in order for it to heal properly. However, soon after, her natural hair grew back on her eyebrows, the tattoo color faded slightly, and it was just a matter of maintaining the look. In her case, there was a good result, but not everyone is that fortunate. There are many risks to being tattooed around the eyes. I have a vision of what I’d expect to look like afterward, and the thought of that going completely wrong terrifies me immensely! I’ve heard the horror stories and have seen people walking around with results that I can’t imagine they were looking to achieve, not to mention the fact that a slip of the wrist could permanently impair one’s vision!

Woman w runny makeupThere are definitely positives to permanent makeup – the thought is quite tantalizing. The time I would save when getting ready for the day would be invaluable, and no need to worry about smudges around my eyes or re-applying after a day at the beach. I think the image of beauty is very alluring to all of us, but where do we draw the line?

There are pros and cons to everything in life. Do your research and decide whether it is right for you. I personally think true beauty is being comfortable in your own skin – being happy with who you are.
