If you are considering LASIK laser vision correction, there are some basic candidacy requirements listed below. Generally, if all of the following apply to you, you may be a good candidate for LASIK:
- Have healthy eyes
- Have a stable glasses prescription for one year or more
- Have a prescription from -8.00 diopters of nearsightedness up to +2.50 of farsightedness or an astigmatism of up to 3.00 diopters
- Not satisfied with wearing glasses
- Contact lenses have become uncomfortable or an inconvenience.
LASIK Evaluation
To ensure that you are a candidate, you will need to have a comprehensive evaluation at our office. At that time, we will determine your candidacy and review all the options and details of the LASIK procedure, including financing options. If you have been told in the past that you are not a candidate for LASIK, this may no longer be the case! Advancements in technology allow the surgeons at Milwaukee Eye Care to treat a wider range of prescriptions.
For those patients who are not good candidates for LASIK due to higher refractive errors or thinner corneas, we also offer other procedures appropriate for your refractive error and needs.
