Lens Options

Our expert opticians have years of experience and are ready to educate you on the latest lens technology. They work closely with our doctors to ensure you you’re getting the latest in precision and technology.

UV Protection
Whether it is sunny or cloudy, and no matter what the season – we are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Most of the time, we do not even realize it since UV rays are invisible to the eye. Just as the sun can damage your skin (burning, wrinkling, skin cancer, and premature aging), it can also be harsh on your eyes. Choosing UV protection is crucial in protecting the health of your eyes

Photochromic Lenses
These changeable lenses automatically darken and lighten to provide the right level of protection and comfort over a wide range of light conditions. Milwaukee Eye Care offers the newest technology in photochromic and Transitions lenses

Polarized Lenses
Polarized lenses work exceptionally well to filter out reflected glare from shiny surfaces like water, pavement, and dashboards. They improve contrast and visibility while reducing squinting and eyestrain. Constant advances in technology can give you a competitive edge that will keep you on top of your game. Whether you’re a pro skier, an occasional biker or a fishing enthusiast, there is sun wear available that can help improve your performance.

Anti-reflective coatings (AR) also known as “non-glare coating” are applied to lenses to reduce reflections. Lenses with a non-glare coating can relieve eye strain while also aiding in improving your visual acuity. Milwaukee Eye Care utilizes premium non-glare products that are easy to clean, scratch-resistant, and hydrophobic.

Progressive lenses are a great option if you struggle to see in the distance and up close. With traditional bifocals or trifocals, there is a harsh line on your lenses that separates the vision into far vision at the top portion of the lens, intermediate or computer vision in the middle portion, and reading vision at the bottom of the lens. With progressive lenses there is a smooth transition from distance vision to near, allowing for comfortable vision at all distances-all without any lines on your lenses.
Progressive lenses should only be fit by experienced opticians to ensure the measurements are as accurate as possible. Stop into any of our four opticals to experience the difference of precise fittings done by Milwaukee’s top opticians.

We have come a long way since the day of coke bottle lenses! Hi-Index, or ultra-thin plastics, enable our patients with stronger prescriptions to enjoy wearing glasses with thinner, more attractive lenses. In addition to being thinner, hi-index lenses are extremely lightweight, adding additional comfort to all-day glasses wear.

Milwaukee Eye Care offers blue light filtering lenses for those patients who are concerned about the effects of prolonged exposure to blue light. Many find this coating helpful while working on the computer.
